Port Harcourt marshland dredging

Port Harcourt marshland dredging

Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Project Details

Problem

Port Harcourt marshlands were left untreated for decades, creating a lack of drainage efficiency and flood control. The city wanted to build new real estate but could not start construction due to the overrun marshlands. To move forward, waterways needed to be cleared and banks reshaped.

Solution

Our amphibious excavators were used in combination with large dredges to reclaim material from marshlands surrounding the city, thereby creating new real estate and improving drainage. Their primary function was to feed the dredge and shape the banks. We equipped each excavator with standard reach fronts and large digging buckets so they could move the most material possible in the shortest amount of time.
