As the Towne Lake waterski community was being developed, the topsoil eroded from the new homesites and ended up in the canals. This eventually prevented boaters from accessing their boat slips. This project was complicated because by the time the project was commissioned all of the lots already had high-end homes built on them so there was no access to the canals from the shore. In addition, the canals were too narrow for a standard dredge to navigate and being that the material had to be pumped 3,500 feet, a small dredge pump wouldn’t be sufficient. The EIK amphibious excavator with the self-contained Eddy pump excavator dredge was the perfect solution.
